Sun will nominate 5 other individuals to travel with him to space

TRON Founder Justin Sun revealed that he has placed the winning bet for the first seat on Blue Origin’s inaugural New Shepard rocket via a press release earlier today.

The bid amount of $28 million will be used by the Blue Origin’s foundation Club for the Future to benefit 19 space-based charities and promote careers in STEM.

As an ambassador and the Permanent Representative of Grenada to the WTO, Sun will be the first Grenadian, international diplomat, and blockchain industry leader to visit space.

Blue Origin completed its first human flight to space on July 20th this year and envisions a future where millions of people live and work in space.

“With the rapid development of commercial aerospace, entering space may become a dream that every person can realize in his or her lifetime. We are entering the era of great spaceflight. This great journey requires more people to get involved,” Sun stated.

Sun will nominate five exceptional men and women to travel with him on the voyage in the coming few months. Nominees may include members of the TRON DAO community, long-term holders of TRX, BTT, JST, SUN, NFT, and WIN and leading individuals in the fields of fashion, art, technology, space exploration, and entrepreneurship. The details of the nomination criteria and the process is yet to be announced.

As part of his voyage, the crypto stalwart is also launching “Seas of Stars”, a campaign aimed at conveying that the Earth is where the next chapter of human life starts, not ends.

Sun stated that Blue Origin’s vision to enable more humans to visit space and view Earth as our singular common home was remarkable:

“Club for the Future offers a way to use that experience to inspire youth around the world to dream and act on their dreams of science, technology, and space exploration. I felt compelled to help further that vision through my bid.”
