The Vietnamese NFT game will use the seed round funds to expand access to the game and hire new staff.

Summoners Arena, a Vietnam-based blockchain game has raised $3 million in a seed round led by Pantera Capital, the gaming platform announced Friday.

Coinbase Ventures, Onechain Technology, GuildFi, Spartan Group, Kyber Ventures, and Mirza Uddin from Injective Labs also participated in the financing round.

Traditional gaming backers, OneSoft, Zitga, and Sonat also participated, as did ChangHan Kim, the CEO of Krafton, a company that owns gaming provider PUBG Studios.

The fund will be used to accelerate the growth of the Summonia universe, developing and integrating new features and tools into the game,” the platform said in the announcement.

Per the gaming team, the new developments will help add a fresh and unique experience for gamers.

Summoners Arena plans to release the game in two versions namely free-to-play (F2P) and a play-own-earn (POE). The F2P version offers access to all the game's features to everyone, with the official launch of the game then giving way to the POE version.

In the latter version, players will get to generate and own digital assets via non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
